Spreading the Word in Onondaga County

Did You Know...

Early on, gaps in learning start happening – you can help eliminate those gaps by talking, reading and singing to your child.

“Talking is Teaching: Talk, Read, Sing” is a key strategy of the Early Childhood Alliance (ECA) aimed at improving school readiness among children in Onondaga County by recognizing that parents are their child’s first and most important teacher. The ECA’s initiative is modeled on the national “Talking is Teaching: Talk, Read, Sing” developed by Too Small To Fail. Talking is Teaching: Talk, Read, Sing reminds parents that learning begins at birth and provides parents with the tools to strengthen the start for their child.
